With the upcoming fall season, it’s inevitable that the temperature will start to drop, leaves on the trees will change colors and of course hairstyles and hair color will transform as well.  And in particular, this fall season has some surprising hair color, cut and texture trends along with some very unique, cutting edge ingredients to support them.  I believe hair care ingredient technology plays a big role in creating and keeping seasonal haircut and color trends and should evolve just as hairstyles do.
 
Let’s Make some Waves
This fall trend reads like something only reserved for spring or summer.  But this season’s effortless-looking, Bohemian Waves are the hottest texture trend for fall 2015!  The overall look is long bending waves with a lot of movement.  The waves are purposely imperfect.  This trend works best on medium to long hair lengths with the hair texture starting out smooth at the root area then approximately 3 inches away from the root, to approximately around the mid-shaft, the waves start to flow!

Similar to the Bohemian Wave trend, The Ruffled Bob is one of tousled elegance.  No solid lines or pin-straight textures; this bob look has a lot of movement, flips and bend.  Hair color for this trend also supports the look of overall movement with a deeper root area and or overall subtle highlights to showcase the dips and swoops of the waves or curls.

Bronze into Fall
Another surprising trend for Fall 2015 is Bronze Hair Color.  One might pigeon hole this hair color hue as a summer trend but not for this season.  This trend is where is where summer meets fall in that golden highlights are added to dark blonde and medium to dark brunette hair creating an overall golden brown appearance.  This look holds some of the brightness of golden summer highlights but adds the depth of fall’s richer hues.
 
Preserving hair color is of the upmost importance to maintain warmer bronzy hues.  And summer hair fabric, which is now transitioning into this fall shade, is usually a bit on the damaged side due to UV and possible chlorine exposure.  We also believe that keeping the color investment intact for our clientele is critical not only for guest retention but also to maintain the value of our color services.  So to get every color off to the right start, we recommend a personalized color formula be created to enhance the client’s skin tone and eye color and then add our exclusive Tela Beauty Organics by Philip Pelusi Color Lock to their color formula.  Again the technology in this unique product supports this trend with specialized big science micro-emulsions help to prevent color fadage up to 80% in between touch ups.

And finally to help hair color maintain its’ pop in between salons visits, we recommend a color conditioner that adds a boost of color, lots of shine and enhances those golden bronze highlights.  We feel technology supports the hair here as well in that I created a deposit-only conditioner as the vehicle to stain the hair with natural plant derived pigments as opposed to a color shampoo.  I found that a conditioner to be a much more effective way to deposit this boost of color pigments as opposed to a color shampoo.
